I have resumed official as President of Nigeria – Buhari tells NASS

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday officially informed the National Assembly that he has resumed his duties as President of Nigeria.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
In the statement, Adesina said Buhari’s communication to the National Assembly on his resumption of duty was in compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
Adesina disclosed that the letters were addressed to the Senate and the House of Representatives.
“I have resumed my functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from Monday, March 13, 2017, after my vacation,” Adesina quoted the letter.
Buhari had earlier announced his resumption of duty after spending over 50 days on medical vacation.
