OGUN TRACE DEPOLYS 350 OPERATIVES FOR TRAFFIC ON OBASANJO’S BIRTHDAY PROGRAMME

Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) on Wednesday said it has deployed 350 operatives to control free flow of traffic during the 4-day official opening of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) and 80th birthday celebration of the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
The Corps Commander, Seni Ogunyemi made this known while addressing TRACE Divisional Commanders at the monthly management meeting of the Corps in Abeokuta.
He explained that the corps have mobilized 350 officials, deployed patrol vans, heavy duty motor tow vehicles, motor bikes and standby ambulances for emergency within Abeokuta metropolis to enhance free flow of traffic and parking.
Ogunyemi also pointed out that the corps would work with the transport/logistics sub-committee in order to ensure efficient parking arrangement on areas provided for such and monitor the process of park and ride pool system.
The Agency boss reiterated that the corps in collaboration with relevant security agencies would cover all road networks leading to Abeokuta to ensure prompt response to emergency cases, noting that adequate logistics are in place to achieve the said goals.
He further added that operatives will be deployed to Lagos -Ibadan Expressway, Interchange Sagamu-Ijebu-Benin Expressway, Abekuta- Kobape-Siun, Sango-Ota toll gate-Ifo, Papalanto and Ibadan-Odeda-Obantoko – Abeokuta on vehicular patrol.
