I have no plans contest 2019 Presidential election – El-Rufai

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has dismissed claims that he nursing Presidential ambition in 2019.

 He made the remark while reacting to insinuations that he was he was plotting to takeover power from President Muhammadu Buhari in the next election.

Featuring on Channels Television’s programme “Hard Copy” El-Rufai maintained that he was a victim of serial lies.

El-Rufai also disclosed that he became a governor at the instance of the President.

”I have had academic ambitions because i’m being driven by excellence in academics. The governor denied having political ambition when quizzed about his purported presidential ambition in 2019

”I’ve been accused of wanting to run for President since 2007, that is why Yar’Adua exiled me, why Jonathan persecuted me and from the moment i joined the CPC to work with President Buhari everyone around him told him came because i want to run for president.

”I don’t want to run for President; i didn’t want to run for governor until President Buhari told me to go and run.

“I care about Nigeria but i have never had any political ambitions.”
