How Ogun Command Finally Arrested Wanted Eiye Cult Leader

Men of Ogun State Police Command have finally arrested leader of Eiye Confraternity cult group who have been on its wanted list for sometime.

DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, PPRO, Ogun State Police Command in a release confirmed that the cult leader, 26 years old Akibu Tikare arrest was effected by policemen attached to Ogijo division on Saturday, October 24th, 2020 at robbery scene.

Oyeyemi hinted that the suspect was arrested following a distress call received at Ogijo division at about 9:30 pm that a group of armed robbers were operating between Gbaga and Kamalu area of Ogijo robbing people of their belongings at gun point.

He narrated in the statement: “On receiving the information, the DPO Ogijo division, CSP Muhammed Suleiman Baba quickly led his men to the scene with some members of vigilante group where the suspect was arrested while other members of his group who he claimed to have come from Ikorodu and Owutu area of Lagos State escaped.

“Some of the victims have identified him as one of those that robbed them of their properties including, but not limited to phones and cash. Recovered from the suspect is a locally made double barrel short gun.

“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward A. Ajogun has directed the immediate transfer of the suspect to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence department for discreet investigation.

“He equally directed that the escaped members of the gang must be hunted for and be apprehended in order to put permanent end to the gang operation in the area.”
