Happening now: Pensioners block entrance to Gombe government house

Members of the Gombe State Council of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners have this morning blocked the main entrance into the Gombe State Government House thereby causing commotion.

Lead by their Chairman, Mohammed Abubakar, the Pensioners are protesting non payment of their pensions running into several months.

Other grievances by the Pensioners is that more than 700 Local Government retirees have not been enrolled into the monthly pension after over two years of retirement among many others.

Security personnel stationed at the gate of the Government House are however seen having a tough time controlling the peaceful protester who insisted on seeing the Governor.

As st the time of filling this report, there message was taken into the Government House for response from any senior government official since the Governor is said to be out of the State.

There is no movement into or out of the government house for now.
