Gov Abiodun Says OGWAMA Circular Economic Program Will Be Private Sector Driven

Ogun State government has disclosed that its waste management circular economic programme of waste reduction, waste-use and waste recycling will be private-sector driven for optimum performance.

The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun stated this at the donation of 100 branded waste drums to the newly-established Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA) by a waste Private Sector Participants (PSP), DeTopNotch Resource Limited as part of the companies Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Mowe, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Abiodun, ably represented by his Special Adviser on Environment and Chief Executive Officer of OGWAMA, Mr Ola Oresanya said the state government took the decision to make it’s waste management circular economic program to be private-sector driven so as to provide more employment opportunities for thousands of youth and women in the society.

He therefore called on private-sector participants in the sector to make good use of government program to invest in the sector, adding that as the custodian of the environment, the administration will make sure that the sector is well structured to support their investment for maximum expansion, yield and employment opportunities.

While thanking DeTopNotch Resource Limited for it’s donation to the state government which will be deployed to make the state cleaner, Governor Abiodun urged other private sector participants in the waste management sector to emulate the donor by contributing their quota to the government efforts at making the state one of the cleanest states in the country.

Earlier, the Managing Director of DeTopNotch Resources Limited, Barrister David Ayo-Odugbesan hinted that the donation of the drums was part of the company’s ways of ploughing back into the society and called on residents of the state to support government’s efforts at making the state clean through it’s waste management circular economic programme.
