Ahead of the general elections, the National Chairman’ of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP) , Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam has clarified that the Party was not collapsing its structure in support of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu and the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party,(PDP) in Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde in the elections as being claimed by some faceless individuals parading themselves as officials off the Party in Oyo State
Alhaji Gabam made the clarification in Abuja on Monday while speaking with Newsmen against the claims of some former members of the Party that it had colopased its structures and resolved to support the duo based on their credible records.
He explained that contrary to the false claims by the impostors, the Party structures across the States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Abuja, were intact and that the Party was “good to” for the general elections having campaign round the entire nation to solicite for the support of Nigerians at the Polls
According to him, ” SDP structures are intact across the States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja, we are not collapsing any structures, those people parading themselves as members and officers of our great Party are dupes and fraudsters who have no records with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the security forces
“Governor Seyi Makinde was a former member of SDP, he knows better, he ought to have cross check their claims before accepting the domy they sold to him, my table is that our Party in Oyo State is as solid as Olumo Rock, and ready to spring surprises at the Polls.
” Let them show their operational Offices recognized by the INEC like ours, they should wake up from their sleep and find something better doing rather than be busy going round to be confusing innocent people and giving politics bad names”
This came just as Alhaji Gabam directed all the Party’s State Chairmen nationwide to immediately proceed to INEC offices in their states for the collection of polling Agenda Identification Tags for Saturday’s Elections
He said that upon the collection of the Tags, the State Party Chairmen would distributes them to already accredited Party Agents
He urged the Party Chairmen to handle the exercise delegently as anyone caught compromising it would be handled over to the law enforcement agents for sanction.
