Just In: Fubara approves recall of 1,000 teachers recruited in 2023

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved the recall of 1,000 teachers who were recruited in 2023 for deployment across public schools in the state.

The development was announced on Tuesday in a public statement issued by the Chairman of the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB), Sam Ogeh.

According to Ogeh, the governor’s approval clears the path for the teachers—whose employment processes had been stalled—to return to service as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the state’s basic education system.

He added that further details regarding documentation, posting, and resumption schedules will be communicated directly to the affected teachers in the coming days.

The decision is expected to boost manpower in public schools across Rivers State, where education authorities have repeatedly highlighted the need for more qualified teaching personnel to enhance learning outcomes.
