FRSC  DEPLOYS 770 PERSONNEL,, 25 PATROL VEHICLES TO CONTROL EASTER TRAFFIC IN OGUN

Ogun State Command of Federal Road Safety Commission(FRSC) on Monday said it was set  to deploy 770 of its personnel,as well as 25 patrol vehicles  for the Easter Patrol operations across the state.
The Sector Commander, Clement Oladele made the disclosure in a statement titiled,’Administrative Instruction’ adding that the Easter patrol will commenced between Thursday 13- Tuesday 18
The statement reads ‘In line with the 2017 Easter Special Patrol Operations, it is pertinent to issue further instructions to guide specific actions of responsibilities in Ogun State. This is with a view to make the road free of obstructions and crashes throughout the special patrol operations (13 – 18 April, 2017)’.
The Sector Commander explained  further that, the deployed officials comprises of 360  Regular Officers and Marshals and 410 Special Marshals.
In addition to deployment of personnel,Olaleye said the command is also to provide logistics which include provision of 25 patrol vehicles,5 ambulances, 4 patrol motor bikes,1 heavy Duty Towing Truck.
The FRSC boss  further disclosed that five traffic control camps for personnels have been set up to ensure easy intervention to traffic distress along the critical corridors.
‘The under listed logistics have been provided in line with operational procedures to ensure desired impact on the road and critical corridors.  (a) 25 Patrol Vehicles (b) (c) (d) 5 Ambulances 4 Patrol Motor bikes 1 heavy duty Towing truck’,he revealed
‘Five  Traffic Control Camps  for personnel have been set up to ensure easy intervention to traffic distress along the critical corridors. The camps are: (a) J3 camp after Ijebu-ode (b) 6. Mowe camp’
He said  the FRSC has also contacted the Ogun State Ambulances services for deployment of the state government ambulances,adding that  the network of private tow trucks in the State will be available to clear any obstructions during this period.
Oladele stated further that  seven areas would be major focus and it would consist of; traffic control,  Excessive Speeding, dangerous driving and overtaking,as wel as failure to use/install speed limit device (SLD) .tyre violation (expired/fake/substandard),lane indiscipline/route violation, overloading violation,wrongful overtaking, Drivers License fake/expired,road obstruction, use of phone while driving,seat belt use violation, child safety and passengers manifest among others.
He disclosed that,within this period, the following corridors are covered. Lagos-Ibafo-Mowe-Sagamu-Odo-Ogbolu-Ijebu-Ode-J3 Lagos-Ibafo-Mowe-Sagamu-Ogere-Ogunmakin-Onigari Abeokuta-Shiun-Sagamu Abeokuta-Obada-Itori-Ifo-Sango-Ota Abeokuta-Eleweeran-Odeda-Ibadan Ota-Owode-Idiroko.
