Fashion Fusion Africa showcases a private fashion show ahead of its ground runway event

Fashion fusion is an event showing Africa’s fabrics, costumes , clothes and fashion styles.
Yiriaku and other African designers told African stories through designs and fashion. The event was held at Onomo Allure AATC, Afreximbank in Abuja on October 1st.

In his opening remarks, Nwankwo Ukachukwu Eugene, front office manager, Onomo Allure Abuja AATC, who represented the General Manager, Mr. Ben Badji appreciated to the Fashion fusion Africa, for choosing its longe as the venue for its private showcase ahead of the main event.

Mr. Eugene stated that fashion has always played an important role in shaping culture and identity, stating that it not only an expression of creativity and artistry, but also a driver of Industry, innovation, and opportunity. In this regard Fashion Fusion Africa, stands as a platform that brings these elements together, celebrating the richness of African heritage while embracing the dynamism of modern design.

He affirmed it an opportunity to host this event, which he said highlights the strength, talent, and potential of Africa’s fashion industry, it is through initiatives such as this that new partnerships are formed, new opportunities are created, and the future of African fashion is advanced. Believing in creating space where ideas, culture, enterprise can thrive, hence, tonight’s gathering is a true reflection of that vision “, He said

I commend the organizers and participants for their dedication and commitment to excellence, may this evening not only inspire us with its creativity and elegance, but also reinforce the value of collaboration in shaping the future.

In her keynote address, Dr. Paula Achichie, Organizer of Calabar Carnival, one of the largest gathering and most sought-after in Africa, said Nigerian fashion has taken over the globe.Whether we like it or not, we are literally feeding the world with what our culture is, through fashion, through music, and then through the entertainment industry.And the biggest of them all is the culture we are selecting and celebrating across the globe- our fashion designers, our promoters and then the creative industry.

She added that the tourism sector is thriving being the organizer of the carnival Calabar that things like these are particularly of interest to her. Calabar Carnival is the biggest event or celebration that brings culture, music and people together.And this year we are particularly promoting the culture of Nigeria, the culture of Africa plus True fashion.In Calabar this year we have 50, we have 54 lined up events and only two of them are fashion oriented emphasizing that more fashion designers are needed for the upcoming event. this year we are bringing about 54 countries, we are bringing the UN,Afrixim bank, the ecowas,the biggest artists in the globe are participating.Our media partnership has extended to be BBC and CNN and then we have a lot, a lot of media influencers, online influencers coming on board that are already promoting the festival, promoting the carnival and its activities.To support our creatives, to support our designers and of course, to showcase what we have in Nigeria.I want to also use this opportunity to invite everybody here, designer or not, to try and plan to be in Calabar in December.It’s going to be different.

The private event brought together partners, fashion designers, models and lovers of fashion. It showcased different fabrics and fashion styles as yiriaku and wendi fashion designers were to there to tell the stories of Africa through Africa customs, fashion, fabrics and styles.
