Edo Region 13 Holds Redeemer’s Day Celebration, Sports Events End On Saturday

Sporting activities at this year the Edo Region 13, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Redeemer’s Day celebration will come to an end on Saturday, at Imaguero College, Benin City, Edo State capital.
The Redeemer’s Day celebration that commenced on Thursday with art and science exhibition is themed ‘Fulfilling Dream’ is organised by Christ the Redeemer’s Schools Management (CRSM), and it is holding across all the Regions in Nigeria, while Friday was for sports events.
Slated for Saturday is the football final between Team Edo Province four and Team Edo Province five having both won their semifinal matches respectively.
Also, slated for the day are mixed relay race, lime and foam race, filling the bottle, while the presentation of medals and trophies will be done later in the day.
To reach the final, Team Edo four defeated Team Edo 10 by four goals to three through penalty shootout after playing goalless, while Team Edo five beat Team Edo one by three goals to one. This paved the way for the two teams to be in the final.
However, on Friday, some events were concluded to ease the clusters of event on Saturday, among them were 20m, 75m, 100m race, 4×100 relay race in both boys and girls categories as well as in junior and senior secondary schools.
In an interview with Daily Dispatch at the venue, Pastor Pius Isiekwene, member, CRSM, who is monitoring Edo Region 13 and Delta Region 23 expressed satisfaction at the performance of the athletes, while he commended the regional organisers of the event.
