Edo government taskforce arrests notorious land grabber in Benin community
The people of Evbuodia Community in Iyekogba, Benin City, will heave a sign of relief as notorious land grabber, Efosa Omoruyi, has been arrested by Members of the Edo State Private Property Protection Taskforce.
Omoruyi, popularly known as Egbowo, with other members of his group over the months have destroyed property belonging to several petitioners in the community, despite extant laws that abolished the activities of Community Development Associations (CDAs) in the state.
Vice Chairman of the taskforce, Chief Osaro Idah, who spoke to journalists in Government House, Benin City, said Omoruyi was arrested by the agency, and has since been handed over to the security agents.
