Eagle, Senegal Match: We’ve Learnt Some Lessons- Rohr

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has said that his team will benefit from last night international friendly against Terenga Lions of Senegal.

According to Rohr, the game will help his team learn about the physicality of West African teams ahead of their crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Cameroon in August in Uyo.

Nigeria fought back to draw 1-1 at The Hive Stadium in London, after Kelechi Iheanacho cancelled out Moussa Sow’s goal in the second half.

In his post-match press conference, Rohr said the Senegalese have given his players an idea of what to expect from Cameroon.

He said: “We chose Senegal to prepare us for a physical Cameroon.

“We don’t have the power of Senegal but we are learning and getting there.”

On the injuries sustained by Ogenyi Onazi and Ahmed Musa who had to be replaced, Rohr said: “He (Onazi) suffered a serious back injury. He’ll have a scan to ascertain the extent of his injury. We’ll observe Musa too.”
