Dumebi Kachikwu Rejects ADC Takeover, Vows Legal Battle Against Atiku-Led Coalition

Former presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dumebi Kachikwu, has declared his intention to legally challenge the recent takeover of the party by a coalition spearheaded by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, alongside Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir El-Rufai, and other political figures.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Thursday, Kachikwu criticized the coalition, asserting that he has no intention of working within the same party structure as its leaders.

He described the move as a “hijack” by what he called “old politicians,” stressing the need for a new generation of leadership with innovative ideas.

“We need fresh ideas. We need fresh ideals,” Kachikwu said. “The people who burnt our house cannot be the ones to sit in it. The fire brigade must put out the fire. I’m against them. I cannot work with these people.”

He confirmed that he would pursue legal action: “Absolutely, yes. I will go to court against them.”
