DGGWI Commends Ayinde’s Appointment as Lagos Support Group Coordinator

The Democracy and Good Governance Watch Initiative (DGGWI), a coalition of civil society organisations, has congratulated Hon. Tayo Akinmade Ayinde on his appointment as the Lagos State Coordinator of the Support Group Directorate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.

In a statement signed by its Convener, Gbenga Soloki, and Co-Conveners, Nelson Ekujumi and Ajayi Popoola, the coalition described Ayinde’s appointment as “a round peg in a round hole,” citing his experience, loyalty and administrative competence.

DGGWI said Ayinde had, over the years, established himself as a dependable administrator, committed party member and quiet achiever, particularly during his tenure as Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Government.

According to the coalition, Ayinde has played a pivotal role in the administration of Lagos State, describing him as an individual who does not seek the spotlight but consistently delivers results.

The group expressed confidence that his experience, charisma, discipline and understanding of Lagos politics would enable him to effectively coordinate the various support groups and contribute to a strong campaign outcome for the APC.

“Lagos, as the Centre of Excellence, has always led, and with Hon. Ayinde at the helm of this directorate, we are confident that the state will once again set the standards in the campaigns,” the statement said.

DGGWI also commended the leadership of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for what it described as an excellent choice, while wishing Ayinde success in his new assignment.

The coalition pledged its goodwill and support to the newly appointed coordinator as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
