Death of Lasun’s Aide: Legislative Aides Protest Says Death Was As A Result of Non-payment of Salaries

The death of an aide to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yussuf Suleiman Lasun, Hassan Abiodun, on Tuesday triggered protests by hundred of legislative aides who blamed it on non- payment of salaries and allowances by the National Assembly.

The protesters who wore black attire and carried placards that read, ‘We are aides, not slaves ‘,   ‘ no DTAs for 2 years’, ‘aides have families to cater for ‘ said Hassan was a victim of an unjust treatment meted out on him by the National Assembly management.

Hassan died because his salary was delayed, few days before his death, he had a serious stomach pains.
