Pastor Odesola explained that RCCG has been at the forefront of the efforts at managing the outbreak of Coronavirus through direct support to government, donations of surgical face mask, hand gloves and hand sanitizers among others.
Furthermore, he stressed that church has in the last two weeks distributed not less than 20, 000 bags of rice, packed in 1-kilogram and other food items to vulnerable citizens to help them cushion the effect of the lockdown on Nigerians, irrespective of their tribes and religion.
He prayed that the crisis of Coronavirus will soon be over in the country, so that every Nigerian can be back on their daily activities.
Receiving the medical equipment at the Redemption Camp, located along the Lagos – Ibadan expressway, Mowe in the Obafemi-Owode local government area of the state, the state’s Deputy Governor, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele expressed appreciation of the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration to the leadership of the church for what she described as wonderful support towards curtailing the challenges of COVID-19 in Ogun.
While describing the equipment as most valuable, Salako-Oyedele declared: “The donation of the medical equipment by RCCG has been a big boost to Ogun government in our preparedness to be able to cope with the disease.
“These are pieces of equipment you cannot get for money or gold these days because everybody across the world is looking for them. By this donation, RCCG has put us at a better advantage to be able to manage the pandemic.”
The deputy governor also applauded leadership of the church for deeming it fit to engage in feeding the poor and vulnerable residents of the state during the lockdown period without leaving the burden to the state government alone.
“This has also assisted in alleviating the effect of the lockdown on our people and ease the government load at this unprecedented time,” she opined.
