COVID-19 Lockdown: Hon. Adewole Extends Palliative Succours To Oriade LG

As the birthday celebration of former Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole continues, Osun State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Adedayo Adewole has extended distribution of COVID-19 lockdown palliative succours to the people of Omo Ijesa and some other parts of Ijesa land.

Segilola Babalola, Press Officer in the ministry stated this in a press release made available to Daily Dispatch on Thursday, which indicated that the distribution of food items served as a collaborative effort to complement the state Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s strife to cushioning the effects of COVID-19 lockdown in the state.

Hon. Adewole, who was at the palace of Olomo of Omo Ijesa land, His Royal Highness (HRH) Oba Oluseyi Adeolu Adejola expressed that the distribution of the food items such as rice, beans, breads and eggs to the vulnerable and aged people was necessary at this tensed period as a succour.

The commissioner advised that the people should stay safe and abide by all the rules, guidelines and regulations of COVID-19 lockdown as directed by the state government and Nigeria Centres for Disease Control ( NCDC).

He equally urged them to look beyond COVID-19 and embark on massive agricultural productions so that there would be food abundantly in the state.

While he assured the people that whenever land is made available by them for agriculture business, he will assist the community farmers with cassava, maize and other seedlings for planting.

Alao, he promised to replicate the distribution of the palliatives in some other places in Ijesa land in the state,” she stated.

Speaking earlier at the event, Oba Adejola appreciated the commissioner for his kind gesture towards the people of Omo Ijesa and prayed to God to take him to greater heights.

Oba Adejola equally used the occasion to congratulate Prof. Isaac Adewole, the father of the commissioner for adding another year to his age and prayed for him to continue to be a shinning light of the community, Osun state and Nigeria at large.

Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries of the palliatives Mrs. Felicia Akinropoye thanked the commissioner for the timely distribution of the items and prayed that Almighty God in his infinite mercies shall uphold and uplift him.

Present at the event were Chairman, Oriade local government, Hon. Ezekiel Obeisun; High Chief Sajowa Omo Ijesa; APC Ife/Ijesa Senatorial leader, Mr. Ademola Ajibola; Otunba Olawale and some other community leaders among others.
