Borno Records Peaceful Eid El-Fitr Celebrations
Security deployments by the police and other agencies were massive at the various payer grounds and recreational centres, all in a bid to ensure hitch free sallah.
Borno governor Kashim Shettima, the Shehu of Borno and other dignitaries prayed at Ramat square ground.
Imam Asil led the prayers.
He urged the people to embrace peace, and live in harmony with one another.
The police had imposed restriction on vehicular movements till midday, and advised that people pray at grounds nearest to them.
There was a joint show of force by security agencies.
Borno commissioner of police Damian Chukwu told AIT that the measures, were to ensure hitch-free celebrations.
The police chief said the liberated areas also reported unhindered sallah, in spite of ongoing military operations, in parts of the state.
Chief of Air staff, Sadique Abubakar also marked the sallah with his men, and commissioned a multi-purpose hall at the headquarters, air task force, in Maiduguri.
