By ABIODUN JIMOH, ABEOKUTA

The presentation of the immediate past Managing Director, Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation, (OPIC), Barr. Jide Odusolu before the Ogun State House of Assembly has met a brick wall as the Assembly expressed dissatisfaction with his presentation.

Odusolu, while appearing before the Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-Corruption on the 25 infractions against him by the audit reports during his tenure of office, was directed to re-appear before the house for further engagements on Monday, November 9th, 2020.

Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, Speaker of the Assembly, who made the announcement during a plenary session at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta enjoined him to come along with all necessary documents relating to all transactions on investments, housing projects and other fixed assets.

In another development, at the plenary, Speaker Oluomo commended the zeal and boldness of residents of the state, especially the youth in the ongoing #ENDSARS protest’, with a charge to them to exercise patience with the Federal Government and the Inspector General of Police in the implementation of police reform policies, which he noted would be better positioned for effective policing of life and property of law abiding people.

Oluomo made the remarks while responding to the submission of a member representing Ijebu East State Constituency, Hon. Olusola Adams, who spoke under Personal Explanation, noting that their peaceful agitations had received the attention of the presidency, hence the disbandment of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad and subsequent formation of Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT).

Also, the speaker implored his colleagues to sensitize and mobilize their constituents to participate in the ongoing free breast cancer screening by the Office of the Wife of the Governor in commemoration of the World Cancer month.

This was in response to the commendation from a member representing Odeda State Constituency, Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, who commended the Wife of the Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun for organising a free cancer test and treatment week going on simultaneously across the state.
