APC’s anti-corruption war is nothing but a brute- Hon. Chinda, says corruption is deeper in the ruling party than last govt
A member of the House of Representatives Hon. Kingsley Ogundu Chinda has lambasted the ruling party, All Progressive Congress APC’s anti-corruption war describing as a brute and a share pulse.
Hon. Kingsley who represents Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency in the House, if he asked if the ruling party is corruption free, “my answer is capital NO!
“Corruption is deeper today under this administration than it was yesterday, but I believe that these revelations will come over time”.
Asked to comment about the ongoing Diezani looting and others who served under PDP, Chinda the situation is quiet regrettable, adding that it is unfortunate.
In a chat with Daily Dispatche, the lawmaker said: “Its unfortunate, to me corruption has not party coloration, has no tribal or ethnic coloration. Corruption speaks every language, it cut across religion so is not about PDP. Even when you hear Diezani is about the person or people. There’s nobody who will not detest corruption, even the corrupt people will condemned it.
“One thing I keeps saying is that things should be done in line with the rule of law even where we are carrying out anti-corruption activities it should be done within the armpit of the law. When we do it outside the law is also corruption
“Anything that will dent or dilute a refined object you corrupt it. The issues of Diezani and others nobody is happy about that because our country would have been better but for corruption. But the truth is that government is not sincere to Nigerians. We hear these issues every day because that is what Nigerians want to hear and they used that to claim some legitimacy and score political mileage.
“You cannot continue to convict people on the pages of newspapers. The drive against corruption is not about Buhari it should be a Nigerian project should not be Buhari’s project.
“Nobody is hearing what goes on in some government agencies what is in practice in other clan. Office of the auditor general who is supposed to audit over 800 MDA and foreign missions you allocate N100million to it and expect them to work how?
“Quietly they ensure that these institutions are weaken and them come on the pages of newspapers and carry out what I call brute and share pulse and will tell you we are fighting anti-corruption. Anti-corruption cannot be by this fire brigade approach.
“Another example up till yesterday the former first lady her account were frozen not just her account anybody that is associated with her, brothers, sister, even some companies.
“And she wrote a petition to the house that she is being persecuted we said she is a Nigerian citizen let us investigate, we look at it FIRS says she has not paid tax, we said no madam you have to go and pay your tax. Some banks says no court order, but they are acting on percussion measures, no instructions from EFCC we said please go and unfreeze those accounts.
“We invited EFCC over 4 time up till now they are not forthcoming. To me that’s not the kind of anti-corruption war we want to fight.
“When people say the only people they are investigating are PDP members, I asked PDP was in power for sixteen years, which party do they want is APGA or Labour?
“If you ask me to say if APC is corruption free I will is capital No. corruption is deeper today than it was yesterday, but I believe that these revelations will come over time”.
