Anti-party: ACPN sacks 5 states excos, constitutes caretaker in Kwara
Following allegation of anti-party activities involving five state chapters of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has dissolved the State Executive Committee involved.
The state affected include; Kwara, Osun, Anambra, Borno and Benue states.
The ACPN National Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Galadima, told newsmen on Tuesday at the party national secretariat in Abuja that some of the affected states were involved in anti-party activities.
He said the NWC has, however, reconstituted a caretaker committee for Kwara state chairmen which he said will be chaired by Hon. Issa Ahmed Aremu.
Other members of the Kwara caretaker committee include: Alhaji Jimoh Abdulrahman as Secretary, Jimoh Pakoyi, Shuiab Nuhu Akanbi, Alhaji Saka Sode Bee, Bilikis Kikelomo Hammee, Mallam Sheshi Taoheed, Alao Eleeku, Lateefat Abdulsalam, Alhaji Ibrahim Ayedun, Ibrahim Shehu and Aminu Ibrahim.
Speaking with newsmen after the NWC meeting, the National Chairman cited example of Osun state excos where the chapter chairman supported all the candidates of the ruling APC in the state against the wish of the ACPN, having allegedly collected money.
“As we prepare towards the 2019 general elections, the preparations must take cognisance of some people that are neither there or here. So, some people who have been causing our setbacks as a party should be sent out of the way.
“That is the reason why NWC of the party sack some state excos of the party in five state who have been engaging in anti-party activities, starting from Kwara state, Osun state, Anambra state, Borno state and Benue state.
“For instance, that of Osun state, in the last Local Government election, you recall that the People Democratic Party (PDP) stayed away from the election, and some aspirants approached our party for them to fly the ticket of ACPN. These candidates were sure of winning the election but the state party chairman wrote a letter to Osun state Independent Electoral Commission and supported all the candidates of APC.”
