Akpabio Celebrates Shettima at 60

….Hails His Resilience and Service to Nigeria

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as an accomplished public servant, steadfast patriot and a committed servant of Nigeria.

Akpabio, in a congratulatory message made available to newsmen by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, described Shettima as an accomplished public servant, steadfast patriot and committed Nigerian.

According to the Senate President, Shettima’s career has been distinguished by “courage in adversity, intellectual depth, loyalty to country and an abiding conviction in the promise of Nigeria.”

He particularly recalled Shettima’s tenure as governor of Borno State during one of the most challenging periods in the state’s history, marked by terrorism and insecurity.

Akpabio said Shettima remained at his duty post during the difficult period, providing leadership and demonstrating that adversity could not be allowed to extinguish the hope of the people.

The Senate President also praised Shettima’s contribution to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that his partnership with the President in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda reflects the importance of unity of purpose at the highest level of government.

“Today, as Vice President, you bring that same resilience, experience and patriotic commitment to the service of our nation,” Akpabio said.

He added that the occasion should not only be seen as the celebration of another year in Shettima’s life, but also as an opportunity to recognise the years he has devoted to serving the country.

Akpabio, on behalf of his family, constituents and the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, wished the Vice President many more years of good health, wisdom, strength and fulfilment.

He prayed that God would continue to guide and strengthen Shettima as he serves the nation, while expressing hope for a Nigeria that is peaceful, prosperous, united and respected among the comity of nations.

“Happy Birthday, Mr Vice President. May God bless you, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Akpabio said.
