Adeola Hails Tinubu, Abiodun, Osoba Over Emergence as Ogun APC Consensus Candidate
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola has expressed gratitude to key leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his emergence as the party’s consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Ogun State.
Adeola, who represents Ogun West and chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations, specifically thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, and former governor Olusegun Osoba for their support and leadership in the process.
The adoption was announced during a strategic APC caucus meeting held in Abeokuta, where party stakeholders and aspirants reportedly endorsed Adeola unanimously.
In a statement issued after the announcement, Adeola described his emergence as a reflection of unity, equity, and collective resolve within the party. He noted that the decision signals a historic opportunity for Ogun West Senatorial District, which has not produced a governor since the state’s creation nearly five decades ago.
He also acknowledged the support of the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, as well as Governor Abiodun and his wife, praising their confidence in his leadership.
The senator further commended former governors Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun for their roles in achieving consensus, describing their contributions as crucial to fostering unity within the party.
Adeola also lauded APC executives in Ogun State and fellow aspirants for demonstrating statesmanship and placing party unity above personal ambition. He singled out prominent aspirants, including Gboyega Isiaka and Abiodun Akinlade, for supporting the consensus arrangement.
Calling for unity ahead of the elections, Adeola urged party members, stakeholders, and residents of Ogun State to rally behind the APC in pursuit of victory. He emphasized the need for strengthened grassroots mobilization and collective responsibility.
The lawmaker assured that, if elected, his administration would focus on inclusive growth, economic expansion, and improved social welfare. He pledged to build on the achievements of previous administrations while pursuing policies aimed at delivering sustainable development across the state.
Adeola expressed optimism about the future of Ogun State, urging citizens at home and in the diaspora to embrace a shared vision of progress and unity.
