AANI Praises Resilience of Nigerian Workers Amid Economic Hardship

The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) has commended Nigerian workers for their resilience and contributions to national development as the country marks International Workers’ Day.

In a statement issued on Friday, AANI President, Emmanuel Obi Okafor, on behalf of the association’s National Executive Committee and members, praised workers across public and private sectors for their dedication and sacrifices in driving economic growth and sustaining essential services.

Okafor described Nigerian workers as the backbone of the nation, noting their critical roles across industries, including agriculture, manufacturing, education, healthcare, corporate services, and security.

He acknowledged the prevailing economic challenges and rising cost of living, highlighting the continued commitment of workers despite the hardships. According to him, sustainable national development depends largely on prioritising workers’ welfare and productivity.

The AANI president called on government, the organised private sector, labour unions, and civil society organisations to deepen collaboration towards ensuring fair wages, better working conditions, improved welfare packages, and the protection of workers’ rights.

He also offered prayers for the safety, strength, and prosperity of Nigerian workers, urging renewed commitment to building a better society.

The statement concluded with AANI reaffirming its support for policies and initiatives that promote workforce development and national progress.
