A Peek Into Gorgeous Golding’s Mind ™: Who Made The Rules?

EPISODE 014

By Gorgeous Golding™

Now, who is making all these rules?

And how did they arrive at them?

Let me share something with you.

As a product owner, I can tell you this from experience.

There was a time I was refining one of my recipes. I had carefully documented every stage of the process because I believe record-keeping is non-negotiable when you’re building a serious brand.

Growth is only possible where there is intentionality and consistency.

One day, while following a newly introduced process, I made a mistake.

I didn’t realize it until the entire production was complete.

Thankfully, because I documented everything, I was able to identify exactly where the mistake happened and how it affected the final product.

I corrected it and moved on.

Then something unexpected happened.

A while later, I ran out of one of the borrowed ingredients I had introduced into my recipe. My suppliers couldn’t restock it, and I was disappointed.

Out of curiosity, I went back to my notes.

That’s when I remembered the mistake.

I wondered,

“What if I intentionally recreated it?”

So I did.

This time, it wasn’t an accident.

It was an experiment.

To my surprise, the result was even better.

What was once a mistake became one of the strongest selling points of my brand.

That experience changed the way I think.

Now I ask again:

Who made all these rules?

And how did they arrive at them?

Could it be that some of today’s accepted methods were once someone’s failed experiment?

Someone’s accident?

Someone’s curiosity?

Or simply someone brave enough to try what everyone else avoided?

Life has taught me never to discard my mistakes too quickly.

Study them.

Record them.

Sometimes your greatest innovation is hiding inside what you first called failure.

Don’t live casually.

Take records.

Observe.

Experiment.

Take calculated risks.

Be willing to question assumptions.

A creative mind cannot afford to become imprisoned by stereotypes.

Creation begins in the mind.

Until your mind becomes an ecosystem where ideas are welcomed, explored, and tested, it will struggle to produce anything truly original.

Most people simply recreate what already exists.

Creators discover what doesn’t.

So forget the rules every once in a while.

Experience life for yourself.

Stop surviving on the crumbs of other people’s discoveries.

Go and make your own.

It may take time.

It may take failures.

It may even begin with a mistake.

But keep creating until something extraordinary appears.

Who knows?

The breakthrough you’ve been searching for may already be sitting right in front of you.

The only question is:

Are you aware enough to see it?
