A Peek Into Gorgeous Golding’s Mind™: Nothing Lasts Forever
EPISODE 002
By Gorgeous Golding™
Remember: Nothing lasts forever.
Sometimes we become so familiar with our blessings that we begin to treat them as common. Then, when their season of service in our lives is over and they are gone, we suddenly realize how much of a blessing they truly were, but we had trivialized them.

Someone once said that the mere presence of a father shields a child from his community.
Yes, your father might not be responsible enough, your mother may not have been there for you, your job may not be your dream job, your husband may be bad with finances, your wife may be annoying, your child may be stubborn, your house may not meet your taste, you may not be eating your favorite meal, you may not own a car yet, you may be unmarried, you may not have this, you may not have that.
We all have a couple of insufficiencies to complain about, but we never for one moment think about or imagine what our lives would have been without the little we have today.
Ingratitude reveals lack.
It speaks the language of lack and will always see a lack, even in the midst of abundance.
Lack of contentment is the thief of joy.
No matter how much you try, you can never satisfy the void of ingratitude.
The harder you try, the emptier it gets.
Be present. Be grateful.
Recognize that even your present is a gift to be lived. Enjoy each passing moment and experience, knowing that it won’t last forever.
You’re temporal, as well as every moment and circumstance.
I heard a married woman complaining once about missing the days before her kids were born.
I heard a married man talking about how he occasionally misses being alone, like when he was single, without marriage responsibilities.
They are both happily married, and before marriage, they desired and prayed for it.
A couple of years into the marriage, they are now missing an experience they once had.
What do you think?
The experience of today will last forever?
No, it won’t.
You most likely might feel nostalgic about it in the future.
Enjoy the experience and the tiny blessings of today with consciousness. Absorb every moment of it because, sooner or later, you’d be left with just memories.
The consistency of the breath in your lungs never changes the significance and essence of it to your life.
Why then should you commonize the consistent gift of life to you today simply because it has become predictable?
You never know what part of your life depends on its presence.
Don’t take off the roof because it’s summer. Be grateful for it because Spring is coming.
Be happy and be thankful for every tiny privilege of a blessing you have today.
Remember:
Nothing really lasts forever, including you.
