2024 Budget Defence: House of Reps sends away representative of CBN, Customs, FIRS
The House of Representatives sent away representatives of the Central Bank Governor, Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, and the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service on Tuesday at an interactive session with relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies on the 2024 Appropriation Bill.
The Chairman of the Appropriation Committee, Rep. Abubakar Birchi, who had convened the meeting to chart a way on how to find the 2024 budget, said they would not entertain any Agency whose Head is not present.
The committee therefore summoned the Governor of CBN, Olayemi Cardoso, Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi and Chairman of FIRS, Zacch Adedeji to appear unfailingly at 10am prompt on Monday, December 11, 2023, before the Committee on Appropriation.
Present at the session was Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu and the Director General, Debt Management Office, Patience Oniha.
