Meanwhile, Dr Emanuel Ighodaro, BCGS competition and handicap secretary is optimistic that the club representatives will be victorious at the end of the tournament.
Dr. Ighodaro expressed confidence that the BCGS Team led by vice-captain, Mayer Ologbosere will parade the likes of Dr. Matthew Oriakhi, President, Benin Club; Darlington Ogie; Osazuwa Ehiorobo; Blessing Ovbiye; Friday Iboi, and the amiable lady captain, Princess Habiibah Oyeghe Oyarekhua, and many others.
“The team were carefully selected after trial organised by the club on Thursday, and I can boldly say that they won’t disappoint based on their level of preparation for the event. Ogunu golf course is a familiar terrain for our team.
“Our team had played there before during the last Inter- Club Match play held in June, though, we lost to them due to fatigue and unfavourable weather. So, on Saturday, we will prove to all other golfers taking part at the event that Benin club golf section is the home of golf in Nigeria,” he stated.
