GIVE PDP ANOTHER CHANCE TO RULE, AMERICAN CHAPTER BEGS NIGERIANS
Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP),United States of America has appealed Nigeria electorate ,to give the party another opportunity in 2019,to create way in reducing the suffering of the masses.
The appeal came from Deputy Secretary of the chapter,Olufemi Babawande, while commenting on the just concluded Special Non-Elective National Convention of the party which took place in Abuja.
Babawande described PDP, as the only experienced people focused political party in Nigeria that can reduce the sufferings of the masses and alleviate their poverty, as against the deceit presently being experienced in the nation.
While expressing confidence in the Senator Ahmed Makarfi led caretaker committee he said with the return of internal democracy to the PDP, the party would be strengthened to take over power in 2019 and save Nigerians from maladministration.
The party scribe said it was quite disheartening to note that, no fewer than 112 million Nigerians now live below poverty level, according to the National Bureau of Statistics, saying there has been great decline in the living standard of Nigerians.
His words “Nigerians do not enjoy regular power supply, there is insecurity, the exchange rates have worsened, unemployment has increased, fuel prices are high, the economy is in shambles and it is so hard to put food on the tables of our people while the Government of the day seems so helpless and can only tell tales of how President Muhammad Buhari is recuperating in the UK”
He added “The President even as I wish him speedy recovery is yet to settle down to the real business of governance and what we are still experiencing is the propaganda, deceit and lies that brought in the government of APC’.
Babawande argued that the government of PDP provided “focused leadership” through institutional and sectoral reforms which impacted positively on the country, saying the PDP tamed inflation at a single digit, maintained price stability, and drove the economy to become the largest in Africa.
“We also made Nigeria to be the number one foreign direct investment destination in the continent,” he said.
The party chieftain said the PDP era ensured that prices of food remained stable while the country was able to regain its goodwill internationally because the party pursued programmes and policies that were not only rewarding but were copied by other countries across the globe.
“We can recall that our Agricultural Transformation Agenda transformed key agricultural value chains, boosted local production and created a new generation of young commercial farmers’,he added.
“The introduction of electronic wallet checked corrupt practices in the distribution of fertilizer and enabled farmers to get fertilizer like all other agro inputs,the party leaded said.
“In the same vein, the YouWin programme empowered a crop of young Nigerians to go into entrepreneurship and in turn employed others,” he said.
Babawande,emphasised further that the PDP introduced the Bank Verification Number (BVN) and the Treasury Single Account (TSA) which has helped to reduce corruption.
He urged Nigerians to partner the PDP to restore good life in the country stating that “If elected in 2019, PDP will fight poverty and ensure that food prices are reduced.
