Yuletide Season: Emulate Jesus Christ- Imbibe Virtues Of Humility And Love- Rep. Chinda Tasks Christians

Christians and non Christians across Nigeria have been tasked to emulate Jesus Christ and imbibe the virtues of humility and love which were the hallmarks of His birth into the world.

Rep. Kingsley Ogundu Chinda, representing the Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency in Rivers State and the Peoples Drmocratic Party ( PDP) Caucus Leader in the House of Representatives, stated this in his Christmas message in a chat with Daily Dispatch on Monday.

Rep. Chinda confirmed that Jesus Christ came into the world to save and deliver mankind from all infirmities, as He demonstrated these attributes even to the point of death on the Cross of Calvary over 2,000 years ago.

Furthermore, he enjoined Christians to also see the period as a moment of stock-taking on our level of selflessness within the year: A period of sharing: A period of expression of love to one another. He described as the main symbol of Jesus Christ coming to the world. He further said that while Christ is the reason for the season, we are the real reason for the season, to put paid to our fear of death and buy back eternal life which man lost to the devil.

While he urged all Nigerians irrespective of tribes, ethnicity or religions to use the occasion to offer prayers to God to enable the country overcome its current lame and unconscionable leadership challenges.

“Nigerians should show tolerance but persevere in their pursuit towards justice for all, as that is the only way peace can reign in the country. I can see a greater Nigeria very soon. We must dwell together and abide in unity and live in harmony with one another.

“It is high time for all Nigerians, be you Christian or non Christian, to set aside the artificial differences that too often divide us and cause acrimony among ourselves. Provock the nigerianness in us.

“I have sincere hope and assurance that Nigerians in the New Year will witness a great turn around in all their activities. The New Year will usher in more progress, greater prosperity and endearing fulfillment for all,”
