Your actions are causing more more problems- Fubara tells supporters
Suspended Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has declared that he knows the solution to his ongoing political challenges while urging his supporters to refrain from actions that undermine his peace process.
Speaking at a service of songs held in honor of the late elder statesman Edwin Clark in Port Harcourt on Sunday, Fubara cautioned that some of his supporters’ actions are causing him further problems.
“Don’t do things because you want to do them; do the things I want. I’m the one wearing the shoes; I know the solution to my problem. I know how to walk through my problem,” Fubara stated. He added, “There are things you do that, rather than bringing peace to me, [disrupt] my peace process and cause me problems.”
Fubara’s remarks come amid his earlier statement at the same event, where he expressed disinterest in returning to the governorship, claiming “his spirit” had already left the position.
The governor, his deputy, and all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly were suspended for six months by President Bola Tinubu due to the escalating political crisis in the state. Tinubu also declared a state of emergency in Rivers State and appointed a Sole Administrator to oversee the state during this period.
