Wike Chairs first FCTA Executive Council meeting of 2026, sets agenda for Abuja
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday presided over the first Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Executive Committee (Exco) meeting of 2026, outlining key governance priorities for the nation’s capital in the new year.
The meeting, held in Abuja, brought together top officials of the FCTA to review ongoing programmes and map out policy directions aimed at strengthening administration across the territory.

According to officials, deliberations focused on accelerating infrastructure delivery, enhancing security across the FCT, and improving efficiency in public service delivery. The minister emphasized the need for strict adherence to project timelines and accountability in the execution of government policies.

The session set the tone for what officials described as a “business-as-usual” approach in the FCT, with Wike reiterating his commitment to sustaining development momentum and ensuring effective governance in Abuja throughout 2026.
The FCTA Exco is the highest decision-making body of the territory, responsible for approving policies, projects, and expenditures critical to the administration and development of the FCT.
