Why Sponsors Jostle For BCGS Hackers 28 Kitty Group Events- Chief Osawaru

Chairman of Hackers 28 Kitty Group, Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS), Chief Lucky Osawaru has admitted that club members have been jostling to sponsor the weekly golf kitty organised by the group.
The weekly golf kitty which stared few months ago has attracted sponsorship till March 2020, while other members have also indicated interest to be part of the history making kitty.
He disclosed this in a chat with Daily Dispatch after the Wednesday golf kitty at the club in Benin City, adding that weekly golf kitty has come to stay in the BCGS golf calendar, while other members are willing to sponsor the event.
Chief Osawaru, winner of Chief John Odigie-Oyegun @ 80 golf tournament said: “When the group was formed few months ago, it started like a play, but it has now metamorphosed into a bigger weekly golf event. As chairman, I used my personal contact and with the help of others to attract sponsors for the weekly event.
“As at now, we have secured full sponsorship of the event till next year March. Other members who are yet to key in have indicated their interests to continue from March. Like this week edition, the sponsor, Engr. Kingsley Okunbo, (Kaydees) is not around, but he sent his sponsorship money to us, as everyone can see.
“The golf event has become a toast for all members on every Wednesday, The turnout has been very impressive. It serves as academy for members to train and to play their best. Through this kitty, members have improved in their playing.
“We have encouraged members to join the kitty now that the kitty is gaining more grounds on weekly basis. Other golf clubs members in the state are welcome to play, because golf family is a very large family, and golf is life. As a family, after the event, we entertain ourselves to relax after hard fought competition.”
Meanwhile, the duo of Dr. Matthew Oriakhi, Benin Club President, and BCGS Vice Captain, Mayer Ologbosere emerged joint winner at the Wednesday golf event.
The president and vice captain played a net score of 70 to beat other contestants while Hon. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen placed third with 76 net, just as Barr. Victor Oriasotie won the best gross with 90 gross.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of fantastic prizes for those who distinguished themselves, while entertainment of members follows immediately.
