Why I am investing more in education of less privileged persons- Hon. Wale Bello

Patron of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Abeokuta North local government area, Ogun State, Hon. Wale Bello has revealed the rational behind his interest to invest heavily in education of less-privileged persons in his community and in the state.
The philanthropist, who had sponsored over 3,200 students in his local government area into various higher institutions disclosed this in a chat with newsmen in Abeokuta on Friday.
Hon. Bello, the proprietor of Comprehensive Children’s School and Comprehensive Academy (COMPRO), Abeokuta stated that his desire to better the lots of less privilege persons motivated him to invest in their education, most especially the adolescents among them.
Similarly, the former councilor expressed that he recognised education as a necessary tool to liberate people, and not only a means to get job, but for guidance. “I see education as the aggregate of all the processes by means of which a person develops abilities, attitudes and other forms of behaviour of positive values.
“I invest in education, because I believe that once a child is educated, his future is endowed. I believe in sound education because it is the only way to liberate people. No matter how rich a man is, if the education is lacking, something is missing.
“Once you are educated, you are equipped for future. I am not saying the educated must become millionaires, I will continue to sponsor the children who are less privilege to school. There’s nothing I can give them other than education most especially the adolescents.”
Furthermore, the Okanlomo of Ilupeju Gbagura said: “Through the help and grace of Almighty God, I have been able to send them to schools whenever I was told that they did not have parents, or their parents want them educated, but the financial ability was absent. Also, those that were academically sound, but the financial wherewithal was lacking.
“Artisans that are well educated excel better. Market men and women who are well educated always do better. I believe that education is the bearing for livelihood. Psychologically, it makes you look superior.
“There are numerous to count in the development of community. Before you can be made Baba Adini of a large area, one must have contributed a lot in that area. People must have seen your efforts, before mosques and churches will invite you almost every month for occasions. I am not going to enumerate what I have done, God is the rewarder of every good deeds.”
