Why cabals want Osinbajo remove by end of the year, then pick Amosun as replacement

ABIODUN JIMOH

Unless an urgent steps are quickly embarked upon, the crises rocking Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo and his office may consume him as cabals at the corridor of power have threatened to remove him latest end of this year by all means.

As part of their strategies to humiliate the number two man and his so-called godfather, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), they have resorted already to shop for immediate past governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunke Amosun, his kinsman as his replacement to create acrimony and disaffection among the Yorubas ahead of the 2023 presidential and other general elections.

This sudden unfolding development is a clear signal that the vice president, Prof Osinbajo reign as number two man in Nigeria is gradually collapsing and may likely come to an abrupt end at the Aso Villa by this year if they succeeded in carrying out their threats.

Similarly, the mouthed governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai ambition to become vice president with all his bragging and talks may not see the light of the day come 2023 when the elections will hold across the country.

According to a reliable source in Abuja, who told Daily Dispatch, he noted that it is only by divine intervention that can save Prof. Osinbajo from being removed from the office, baring in mind the recent happenings at the presidency where he was striped of many positions to whittle-down his rising profile across the country in preparation for becoming APC presidential candidate in 2023.

The source confirmed that the cabals grievances towards the vice president Osinbajo could be dated back to the sudden removal of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Mahmud Mohammed when he was holding sway for President Muhamadu Buhari, who was on health sabbatical in London, as an acting president then.

“Also, for replacing him with Justice Walter Samuel Ononnghen, whom they described too rigid and not their favourite did not augur well with the cabals who pinpointed to him to install him on acting capacity pending till the time they would be able to shop for another candidate for the position, in which Osinbajo rebuffed.

“In order to set the ball rolling, the cabals have mingled the power that be to inflict more pains on the vice president as many of his aides have been sent packing from Aso Villa to take solace at the federal secretariat, claiming that their services constitute nuisance at the villa, and no longer in need.

“These and many more happenings underneath, though not reported in the media were being carried out to humiliate the vice president, and hitherto force him to resign before their December target, in which failure to do so will tantamount to his forceful removal by all means,” he confided.

Speaking on the choice of Senator Amosun, the source revealed that one of the cabals suggested his name at their caucus meetings held inside the Villa behind close door based on his closeness to President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as coming from the same state with the vice president, this will afford him to complete his kinsman tenure without any highbrow from the Yorubas.

He also noted that this would adversely deal a big blow on the aspirations of Asiwaju Tinubu and reduce his grip of power in the South-West since Amosun and many others were not in his good book of record. As it could be witnessed during the last general elections whereby Tinubu single handedly ensured the defeat of Amosun candidate for governorship position.

While speaking on the cabals choice candidates for the post of president and vice president for the 2023 election, he said that the current governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, and Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Works and Housing for position of president, while Rt. Hon. Ghali Umar Na’abba, former Speaker, House of Rep., whose negotiations to return to APC is being facilitated by northern political leaders have been penciled down for vice president.

This combination as suggested is believed to be a perfect alliance that would permanently silence Asiwaju Tinubu and his cohorts across the country. He recalled that Fayemi and Fashola have been blacklisted by Tinubu over the years, but all what they have been exhibiting are mere camarde.

Furthermore, he referred to the recent commissioning of projects in Rivers State by governor Fayemi, being the Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), as a grand design to seek for support and raise his profile that will give him advantage enroute to the 2023, just as Hon. Na’abba, as former Speaker influence would be an added advantage to the party.

Therefore, responding on the choice of Fashola,he said that the former Lagos State governor is on standby in case governor Fayemi fails to comply or sell out anytime. He would be make to contest for the position to further humiliate Asiwaju Tinubu and compound to the breaking and destruction of his political empire which they said to becoming too powerful to curtail.
