[Video] Nigerians protest at Police HQ over video showing Senator Abbo assaulting woman in sex toy shop
Some Nigerians on Wednesday morning protested at the Police Headquarters over a video clip which surfaced online on Tuesday showing a lawmaker, Senator Elisha Cliff Abbo, assaulting a saleswoman at an adult sex shop in Abuja.
According to news monitored on TVC News, one of the protesters said they are demanding that the Senate leadership take action against the senator in question.
The spokesperson of the protesters also said the protesters also had a written petition to be submitted to the representative of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, asking that the police officer caught on video not doing enough to stop the senator from assaulting the woman, be investigated and appropriately sanctioned.
It would be recalled that online news platform, Premium Times on Tuesday published a video online showing Nigeria’s youngest senator, Senator Abbo, representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, assaulting a saleswoman at a sex toy shop in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Nigerian celebrities like Don Jazzy, MI Abaga, Kate Henshaw, and others have been vocal in criticising and calling for sanctions against the said senators.
Watched this like a million times..It's disgusting that someone would behave this way but I'm not surprised.
