Video: Bwari PDP Chairmanship Candidate Steps Down for APC Rival After Wike’s Intervention
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate for Bwari Area Council, Julius Adamu, has withdrawn from the race ahead of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Councils’ election.
Adamu stepped down in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Joshua Ishaku Musa, following reported intervention by the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.
Sources within the political circles in Bwari disclosed that the development came after high-level consultations involving party stakeholders and key figures in the territory. While details of the agreement were not immediately made public, insiders hinted that the move was part of broader political realignments ahead of the polls.
The withdrawal is expected to reshape the contest in Bwari Area Council, one of the six area councils in the FCT, as attention now shifts to how supporters of the PDP will align in the coming days.
Efforts to get official statements from both the PDP and the APC in the FCT were ongoing at the time of filing this report.
