VGADA urges FG to probe death of kidnapper who took ‘Tramadol’

The convener Vanguard Against Drug Abuse, VGADA, Dr. Hope Omeiza has called for the probe into the death of the kidnapper who took ‘Tramadol’

In a chat with DAILY DISPATCH on Wednesday, Dr. Hope questions the sudden death of the man.

The Police in Ondo State yesterday said the suspected kidnapper who was arrested in a botched kidnap attempt in Owo is dead, following complications from a high intake of Tramadol tablets.

“I feel that the authority whose this man was in custody should be made to explain why and how the man died

“What care was given to the person and a proper documentation of what was done presented to the court. The corpse should also be sent for Autopsy

“Why I say this was that the last I read about this young man before the news of his death calls for concern and rather primitive

“How will a government agency say that he was pretending to be sleeping for 3 days, and that when he is done pretending he should be ready to face the wrath of the law.

“Then where is Human right. This attitude/utterance stems from stigmatization of a drug user. We must stand up to fight and protect the right of a drug user”, he declared.
