Union threatens Strike Over Salary Deduction in Kano State

A Joint session of Nigerian Labour Congress, (NLC), Trade Union Congress, TUC and Joint Negotiation Council, (JNC) have threatened to embark on strike.

This is to prevent the further deduction of workers salaries’ and pension in Kano state.

The joint session also threatened to sue Kano state Government if it fails to refund salaries and pension already deducted in November and December 2020

Kano NLC Chairman, Comrade Kabiru Ado Mingibir issued the threat on behalf of the joint session on Friday.

He disagrees with the decision of the government to reduce workers’ salaries despite the economic impact on the masses, insisting Kano State government has no justification for the deduction since it wasn’t the state most hit by the pandemic
