Umahi presents evidence of federal road transformation under Tinubu

The Federal Ministry of Works has unveiled a detailed assessment of Nigeria’s road infrastructure, highlighting what it described as concrete and verifiable progress recorded under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking at the Ministry’s End-of-Year Press Briefing, the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, CON, alongside the Minister of State, Hon. Ibrahim Muhammed Goroyo, said the update was anchored on data, on-ground inspections, and measurable outcomes, rather than political rhetoric.

Umahi disclosed that the Ministry has made a decisive shift from prolonged delays to active delivery, with several major federal highways undergoing expansion and rehabilitation. He noted that many long-neglected critical roads across the country are now receiving urgent attention, while key transport corridors vital to commerce and national integration are being upgraded.

According to the ministers, the ongoing interventions are already yielding positive results, including improved traffic flow, enhanced road safety, and increased efficiency in the movement of goods and services, all of which contribute to broader economic productivity.

They emphasized that road infrastructure is a cornerstone of national development, describing highways as economic lifelines that support trade, security, and social connectivity rather than mere construction projects.

Operating within the framework of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to disciplined planning, transparent execution, and timely completion of projects nationwide.

The briefing concluded with assurances that the administration’s focus remains firmly on results-driven governance, with completed road kilometres and visible construction activities serving as tangible evidence of a nationwide road infrastructure revolution.
