Two Nigerians Nabbed in Libya Over Robbery Allegations
Authorities in Tripoli, Libya, have apprehended two Nigerians accused of engaging in a string of robberies across the city.
The suspects, identified as undocumented migrants, were arrested on August 25 after CCTV footage reportedly captured them robbing a convenience store.
Migrant Rescue Watch, an organisation that tracks migrant-related incidents, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Tuesday.
According to the group, the duo had been linked to several break-ins and thefts targeting commercial shops, where cash was allegedly stolen.
“The police in Tripoli have arrested two undocumented Nigerian migrants accused of carrying out multiple break-and-enter robberies. Their case has since been handed over to the public prosecutor,” the statement read.
