Two internet fraudsters nabbed by DSS

In spite of warning to youths to desist from social vices that could land them in prison custody, two notorious internet fraudsters have been arrested by the personnel of the Directorate of Security Service (DSS), Edo State command.
The two suspects namely Asuelimen Amos and Kelvin Godwin Ogashi were arrested for defrauding unsuspected individuals through their facebook and instagram accounts.
Briefing newsmen on Wednesday, Edo State deputy director of DSS, Mr. Galadima Byange stated that they were arrested at Ubiaja, Esan South-East and Ikpoba-Okha local government areas respectively by men of the DSS.
Moreover, he advised youths who weer planning to engage in acts of this nature or other fraudulent behaviour to take heed as there is no short cut to wealth. “They will soon be charged to court for judgment.”
Asuelimhen, 30, who claimed to be an undergraduate of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma was arrested in connection with creation of a Facebook account, bearing the name of vice-president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
He admitted to have committed the crime arrested for, adding that he used his Infinix android phone to create the fake account to scam unsuspected people.
He acknowledged that his parents were not aware of what he was involved. “I am into fraud because I was thinking on how I can get money to pay my school fee.”
The suspect admitted to have defrauded five persons whom he asked to send him money and recharge cards for a loan of N100,000 each.
Similarly, Ogashi was arrested for creation of an Instagram account with the name and picture of the wife of the President Mrs. Aisha Buhari.
Ogashi noted to have created the Aisha Buhari Instagram account for the purpose of swindling unsuspecting members of the public. “I created the account in May while I organized a youth empowerment program.”
