Troops repel Boko Haram invasion into IDP camp

Nigerian Army troops of 3 Battalion in Gamboru Ngala the Nigerian Army have repelled an attack by the Boko Haram terrorists who attempted to invade Ngala Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Borno state on Saturday, October 6.

In a series of tweets from it’s official handle the Army said 3 Boko Haram terrorists were killed while others escaped with gunshot wounds.

“At about 0330 a.m this morning 6 Oct 18, Elements of Boko Haram Terrorists attempted to attack the Ngala IDP camp in Borno State.

However , the gallant troops of 3 Battalion in Gamboru Ngala engaged and neutralised 3 of them, while others escaped with gunshot wounds.

The troops trailed the escaping BHTs and captured one of them with gunshot wounds. Consequently, the COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai has commended the gallant troops and charged them to remain vigilant and ensure that all IDP camps remain safe.”
