Tragedy as two friends died after drinking six bottles of Macdonald local gin ogogoro
Tragedy struck on Wednesday morning when two friend died after drinking six bottles of Macdonald local dry gin popularly refer to as ogogoro drinking competition.
One of the victims was reported to be resident of Kurudu, while the second resides in Nyanya area, all in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.
Investigations by our correspondent revealed that the duo simply identified as Richard while the other Emeka bet on who out the two can finish six bottles of local gin.
According to witness, Richard and Emeka are perpetual drunk, “they’re always drunk anytime you see them. No matter the time of the day”, Sam a bricklayer with Richard said.
Daily Dispatch learnt that the duo went betting last night at a popular joint (names withheld) to know who is a superior drunk, their colleagues around now decides to measure the local gin with Macdonald small bottles to see who among them can finish it.
To the surprise of residents the duo were found dead in their respective abode Wednesday morning.
The two bodies have been deposited at Maitama Hospital Mortuary.
As at the time of this report, efforts are still been made to police and hospital management’s response.
