TODDLER, TWO OTHERS KILLED IN OGUN AUTO CRASH
A toddler and two female passengers, were on Saturday killed in an auto crash which occurred in Kobape axis of Owode-Siun-Abeokuta dual carriage way.
The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enlightenment Corps,Public Relations Officer,Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed to our correspondent,explaining that the lone accident involved an 18-seater commercial bus with registration number XB852FUF.
He added that, the bus was coming from Ilorin in Kwara State enroute Abeokuta to Sango town of Ogun State, when one of its tyre burst, about 20mins drive to Abeokuta.
Akinbiyi said, the Toyota vehicle summersaulted thrice, and in the process threw out many of the passengers,killing three occupants on the spot,while 15 others sustained various degree of injuries.
According to him ‘It was an 18 Seater commercial bus. The rear tyre on the right burst on motion while the vehicle was in top speed, sumersaulted about 3times, while the dead victims flying out of the window in the process’.
He added further that,corpses had being deposited in the morgue of State Hospital,Ijaiye,Abeokuta, while the injured were rushed to Federal Medical Centre and Mercy Private Hospital in Abeokuta respectively.
‘The fatal accident happened around 3pm. The dead, 2 female and a 3month old baby were taken to the morgue of General Hospital Ijaiye, Abeokuta, while the remaining 15 injured passengers, including the driver were taken to FMC, Abeokuta and Mercy Hospital, Panseke, Abeokuta.
