Tinubu decries Borno suicide bombing, grieves Kano explosion victims
President Bola Tinubu has condemned the recent suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State, describing it as a despicable act of terror.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the President expressed deep sorrow over the lives lost and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the entire people of Borno State.
He labelled the attack as cowardly and urged security forces to intensify efforts in eliminating the remaining pockets of Boko Haram insurgents, who continue to target civilians in desperate acts of violence.
Tinubu also instructed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide necessary assistance to survivors of the blast.
In a separate message, the President commiserated with families affected by a deadly explosion at a scrap metal facility in Kano on Saturday morning.
The incident left 15 people affected, including five fatalities.
President Tinubu emphasized the urgent need for strict adherence to workplace safety standards and directed appropriate government agencies to investigate the cause of the explosion and implement preventive measures.
