Tinubu congratulates Soludo on re-election, hails his visionary leadership

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a resounding affirmation of his visionary and people-focused leadership.

In a statement issued from the State House on Sunday, President Tinubu said Soludo’s overwhelming triumph at the polls makes him the third governor in Anambra’s political history to secure a second term in office.

The President commended the people of Anambra State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and credible exercise.

“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance,” Tinubu said, adding that the governor had “demonstrated that knowledge is power and that academic principles can be effectively applied in public service.”

Tinubu recalled his visit to Anambra earlier in the year, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration, noting that the “good thinking and innovation behind those projects remain remarkable and indelible.”

The President praised the Anambra governor for bringing “discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance,” saying the state was indeed living up to its motto as “the Light of the Nation.”

He urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to work with his opponents for the continued progress of the state. Tinubu also assured the governor of his unwavering support and expressed readiness for continued collaboration between the Federal Government and the Anambra State Government.

Commending the All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA) for its victory, the President said the outcome demonstrated the vitality of Nigeria’s democracy, where “any progressive and hardworking leader can triumph regardless of party affiliation.”

Tinubu further lauded INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what observers described as a credible poll, urging the commission to maintain and improve on its standards in future elections.
