The Mark of A True Leader

EVEN WHEN TINUBU GOT THE RAWEST DEAL IN A PARTY HE INITIATED THE FORMATION, NOT ONCE DID HE CASTIGATE THE LEADERS OR DENIGRTE THE PARTY. THIS IS THE MARK OF A TRUE LEADER.
When Tinubu finally gets to writing his memoir, which will be a compendium of betrayals, I hope he will not leave anything out.
●PBAT started working towards the fomation of the present APC just before the 2011 Presidential Election but El-Rufai convinced Buhari in CPC that he did not need the alliance with a Yoruba man that would water down their Fulani scheme to win the 2011 election. They lost woefully
●In 2012, Tinubu started afresh. He went to Daura to console the weeping general and convinced him to try again, promising to help him. That’s how APC came to be in 2013.
●In 2014, APC had a convention in Lagos to pick a presidential candidate. Moneybag Atiku had jumped in. By the constitution of the new and poor party, the delegates to the convention were party leaders in states numbering a mere 1,800. Atiku had gone around the nation and pocketed them all. He also announced that his contribution to the convention was free accommodation. He had paid for all 3 to 5-star hotels in Lagos. In the drawers were welcoming “Brown Envelopes.” IDANman was watching. He was then the indisputable leader of the party. He put his man Fayemi in charge of the convention.
●A few days to the convention, Tinubu caused a change in the qualification to be a delegate. Ward leaders, etc., would now be included. The number of delegates moved to 6,000, of which Atiku had only bribed 1,800, and it had become too late to move around again. This was the small beginning of “Direct Primaries.”
●Next, Tinubu caused Fayemi to announce that the convention would start at 4 pm. So most delegates could fly or drive to the convention venue without going to Atiku’s hotels. These, finished Atiku for which he will never forgive Tinubu.
●Tinubu was vonsidered the father of the new party in SS and SW where his legacy party had governors. He had earlier promised Buhari to deliver the presidential slot to him.
▪︎▪︎ Atiku from NE contested.
▪︎▪︎ Okorocha from SE contested.
▪︎▪︎ Isa from NC contested.
▪︎▪︎ But Tinubu did not encourage anyone from his turf—SW and SS—to contest, thereby pouring the bulk vote into Buhari’s box. Buhari won with a landslide vote of 3,430, being 57%.
■BETRAYAL 1
Once Buhari got to power, betrayals started.
●PMB’s first action in office was to make the same Fulani man, Atiku who bitterly fought his presidential ambituion, to represent him in SA in lobbying AfDB CEO for Adesina.
●Next action was for Buhari to connive with Abba Kyari, Mamman Daura, and this same Atiku to ensure that the party’s candidates for Senate President and Speaker of Reps were trickishly schemed out, and a Tinubu hater, Saraki, got it.
●From now on, it was to water down Tinubu’s influence in the party. They got Oyegun, also put in office as party chairman by Tinubu, to change the delegates list for nomination for Ondo’s governorship slot so that Tinubu’s preferred candidate lost.
●Next was to make sure that Tinubu’s man, Faleke, did not replace Audu as APC governorship candidate in Kogi state election after Audu died . Instead, they went looking for Bello, who had even left the party.
●They started convincing Tinubu’s men in the party to dump him. They got a bogus biography written where they said PBAT had no hand in Osinbajo’s nomination as Buhari’s running mate and that he even worked against him.
●Just as Buhari was doing his own, his minions were also scratching Tinubus shadow below. El-Rufai went to Lagos to deliver a lecture titled “How to Destroy Godfatherism in Lagos.”
From this point, Tinubu was completely alienated from his party. Some of us, his followers, begged him to go start afresh. But this is what true leadership is about. In all these, not once did Tinubu insult Buhari or the party he was primarily involved in setting up.
■ THE RETURN OF TINUBU
By 2018, APC was finished.
▪︎▪︎Story of Buhari’s health
▪︎▪︎Cloning of Buhari’s
▪︎▪︎Buharis Education
▪︎▪︎’Buhari’s Jubril’
▪︎▪︎Exaggerated Fulani Herdsmen killings in SW, SE, SS, and NC.
▪︎▪︎Boko Haram was getting stronger after their initial caging
These resulted in
▪︎▪︎SE and SS were never with Buhari.
▪︎▪︎The nPDP that joined the party returned to PDP.
▪︎▪︎NC had gone totally against him, with people like Ortom moving out of APC.
▪︎▪︎NE was gone, with Atiku waxing stronger.
▪︎▪︎SW was almost gone with the way the party was treating Tinubu.
■RETURN OF TINUBU
Take it from me: it is not about spoken English. The Fulani are the most advanced ethnic group in Africa when it comes to the politics of Power. Unashamedly, Buhari called back Tinubu. Tinubu accepted but on the condition that Oshiomhole took over the party chairmanship. Buhari immediately agreed. Tinubu moved back to power.
The problem was how to get a second tenure nomination for Buhari with a badly dented image and money bags waiting to do what Atiku did in PH PDP nomination convention. They were ready. Though Buhari had the money, how would it be taken if the noise came out that “Mr. Integrity” tried to bribe delegates? Other contestants had taken care of that. They were ready for him
But do not joke with IDANman. Along with his friend, Oshiomhole, now party chairman, they devised the “Direct Primaries.” With this, anyone who registered as APC was eligible to vote. Now “Mr. Big Stuff,” go and start bribing 40 million APC members.
That ended the game. Buhari got the slot and remained president.
■BETRAYAL 2:
The day Buhari got to office for the second tenure, he started again to dismantle Tinubu.
●First, remove Oshiomhole as party chairman. He guessed that if he remained in the office, he would help Tinubus Presidential ambition
●PMB ensure that PDP took over Edo State and reduce the influence of Tinubu in the SS
● PMB dissolve every organ of the party from ward level in case Tinubu had helped to install some.
●He cancel all registers of party members. Interested persons had to re-register. Buhari’s advisers thought this could make Tinubu either reject fresh registration and be knocked out of the future race or quit the party.
●Five committees were set up to run the party, all led by Northerners
●Then when the race for nomination started, he ensure none of his ministers associated with Tinubu.
●ASUU 8-month strike in an election year is a big poison for APC
●Return of fuel queues after 5 years in an election year?
●Cashless policy right into the election
In all these, did anyone hear Tinubu insult PMB or APC as a party? That is where he is different from the type of ElRufai.
