The Eagle Online Will Continue to Fly, Oladipo Family Assures Readers, Advertisers

The family of the late founder of The Eagle Online, Oladotun Samson Oladipo, has assured readers, advertisers, partners and well-wishers that the digital news publication will continue to operate despite his death.

The assurance was contained in a statement signed by Taiwo Oladipo on behalf of the Oladipo Family, following the sudden death of the journalist and publisher on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The family described Oladipo’s death as a devastating shock, noting that they were still coming to terms with the enormity of the loss.

According to the statement, Oladipo devoted a significant part of his life to journalism and founded The Eagle Online in 2012.

The family said he subsequently built the platform into a respected digital news publication with a loyal readership, strong brand recognition and the confidence of advertisers and commercial partners.

It said Oladipo was deeply passionate about the publication, which he regarded not only as a business but also as a platform for responsible journalism and public service.

The family disclosed that the late publisher had, in line with best business practices, put in place a business continuity plan to ensure the sustainability of the publication.

It said the plan had now been activated and was being refined to sustain The Eagle Online in accordance with Oladipo’s vision.

“We recognise that many people have invested their trust in The Eagle Online over the years. We do not take that trust for granted,” the family said.

The family added that its intention was to preserve the legacy Oladipo worked hard to build while ensuring that the publication continued to grow and serve its readers effectively.

It also reassured advertisers and commercial partners that existing relationships and commitments remained important to the family and the publication.

“We look forward to your continued confidence and support as we navigate this transition,” it said.

While appealing for continued prayers, understanding and support as the family mourns, the Oladipos expressed appreciation to readers, colleagues, friends, advertisers, partners and well-wishers who had stood by them since the publisher’s death.

“Dotun may have left us, but the work to which he devoted so much of his life will continue.

“The Eagle Online will continue to fly,” the family declared.
